Getting There

  • Car

    From Hobart, take the Tasman Highway (A3) heading northeast for approximately 2.5 hours. Follow signs for Swansea and then turn onto Coles Bay Road (BAS). Continue on Coles Bay Road for about 30 minutes until you reach the entrance of Freycinet National Park. Please note there is a park entry fee of AUD 40 per vehicle for a day pass.

  • Car

    If you are starting from Launceston, take the Midland Highway (A1) south until you reach the junction with the Tasman Highway (A3). Merge onto the Tasman Highway heading southeast towards Swansea, then turn onto Coles Bay Road (BAS) and follow it for approximately 30 minutes until you arrive at Freycinet National Park. Remember to pay the AUD 40 park entry fee.

  • Public Transport

    From Hobart, board a bus operated by Tassielink that goes to Swansea. The journey takes around 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Swansea, you can take a taxi or a shuttle service to Freycinet National Park. It’s advisable to contact local taxi services in advance for availability, or check if shuttle services are operating on your travel date.

  • Car

    From Bicheno, which is a popular stop, take the Bicheno-Swansea Road (B37) northwest, then merge onto the Tasman Highway (A3) heading south. After about 30 minutes, turn onto Coles Bay Road (BAS) and continue for another 30 minutes to reach Freycinet National Park. The entry fee of AUD 40 per vehicle applies.
