Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is located approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Launceston and about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Devonport. From Launceston, take the A1 highway south towards Hobart. After about 90 kilometers, take the exit for the B51 towards Deloraine. Continue on the B51 until you reach the junction with the C132, where you will turn left onto the C132. Follow the C132 until you see signs for the park entrance. Note that there is an entry fee for the park, which is approximately AUD 24 per vehicle for a day pass.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, you can take a bus from either Launceston or Devonport to Cradle Mountain. The bus service operated by Tassielink provides services to the Cradle Mountain area. From Launceston, you can catch a bus to Sheffield, and then transfer to a connecting service to Cradle Mountain. From Devonport, you can take a similar route. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends and public holidays. The approximate cost for a one-way ticket is around AUD 50.
