Car
If you're driving, the most common route to Horseshoe Falls begins at Hobart. Take the Southern Outlet (A6) towards Kingston and then follow the signs for the Brooker Highway (A1) towards Glenorchy. After about 20 minutes, merge onto the Midland Highway (A1) and follow it for approximately 50 km until you reach the turnoff for the B62 towards Mount Field National Park. Continue on the B62 for about 30 km until you reach the entrance of Mount Field National Park. There is a parking fee of approximately AUD 10 per vehicle for entering the park. After parking, follow the well-marked walking track to Horseshoe Falls, which is about a 20-minute walk from the car park.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transport, start from Hobart. Take the Metro Tasmania bus route 711 from Hobart to New Norfolk. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in New Norfolk, you'll need to catch a taxi or rideshare service to Mount Field National Park, as public transport options from New Norfolk to the park are limited. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and may cost around AUD 50-70. After reaching the park, pay the entrance fee of approximately AUD 10 per vehicle (you can pay for a group if you're sharing the taxi). From the park entrance, follow the walking track to Horseshoe Falls, which is a short 20-minute hike.
