Car
If you are driving from Hobart, take the Tasman Highway (A3) and head northwest towards the town of Strahan. The journey is approximately 4 hours (approximately 300 km). Once you reach Strahan, follow the signs towards Henty Dunes. The dunes are located about 15 km south of Strahan along the Henty Dunes Road. The last stretch of road is unsealed, so be cautious if you're in a standard vehicle.
Public Transportation
From Hobart, catch a bus to Strahan operated by Tassielink. The bus departs from the Hobart Transit Centre and takes about 6.5 hours to reach Strahan. Once in Strahan, you can take a taxi or arrange a local shuttle to take you to Henty Dunes. The taxi ride will cost approximately AUD 30-40 and takes about 15 minutes.
Rental Car
If you prefer flexibility, consider renting a car in Hobart. After renting, follow the Tasman Highway (A3) to Strahan, then take Henty Dunes Road as previously described. This option allows you to explore the scenic routes and make stops along the way at various attractions such as Lake St. Clair or the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.
