Walking
If you are in the center of Graz, you can easily reach Hauptplatz (Hauptpl.) by walking. Start at the main square, known as 'Jakominiplatz', which is a central hub for public transport. From Jakominiplatz, head north on 'Kaiser-Josef-Platz' until you reach 'Herrengasse', a pedestrian street. Continue straight on Herrengasse; it will lead you directly to Hauptplatz, which is around a 10-minute walk. You will see the large square with beautiful historical buildings and cafes.

Tram
To reach Hauptplatz using public transport, take Tram Line 1 or Line 3 from any central stop in Graz. If you are near 'Jakominiplatz', board the tram towards 'Graz, Radegund' or 'Graz, Auenbruggerplatz'. Get off at the 'Hauptplatz' stop, which is the second stop from Jakominiplatz. The tram ride will take about 5 minutes, and you will find yourself right in the heart of the square.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, Graz has a good network of bike lanes. Rent a bike from one of the many rental stations throughout the city. Start from the Mur River, cycling along the riverbank towards the city center. Follow the bike lane signs directing you to 'Hauptplatz'. The ride will take approximately 15 minutes, depending on your starting point, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way.
