Start at the Hallstatt train station. Exit the station and follow the signs leading you towards the village center. Walk straight down the main path, 'Hallstätter Straße', which will take you through the charming streets of Hallstatt, lined with shops and cafes. Continue walking until you reach the end of the village where you will find a ferry dock. Here, you will take a ferry across the beautiful Hallstätter See (lake) towards Gmunden. The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Once you arrive at the Gmunden dock, exit the ferry and walk towards Johann Orth-Allee. Turn left and walk about 10 minutes along this road, following the signs for Landschloss Ort. You will soon see the castle on your left, situated on a small island.
