From Hallstatt, head to the Hallstatt Ferry Station, which is located along the shore of Lake Hallstatt. Look for the signs directing you to the ferry terminal. Take a scenic ferry ride across Lake Hallstatt to the town of Obertraun. The ferry ride lasts about 10-15 minutes and offers stunning views of the mountains and the lake.

Once you arrive at Obertraun, disembark the ferry and walk to the Obertraun train station, which is just a short distance away from the ferry terminal. From Obertraun, take a train towards Gmunden, which will take you along the beautiful Traunsee Lake. Make sure to check the train schedule for the next available departure. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes.
