If you're traveling by car from any point in Lech, head towards the main road, 'Dorfstraße.' Follow this road until you reach the intersection with 'Bergbahnstraße.' Turn left onto 'Bergbahnstraße' and continue until you reach the parking area near the Lech-Oberlech cable car station. Park your car here. The cable car operates frequently, and you will need to purchase a ticket for the ride. Once you arrive at the top station (Oberlech), follow the signs to the hiking trails towards Hochgletscher. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, start by walking to the nearest bus stop in Lech. Take the local bus that services the route to the Lech-Oberlech cable car station. The bus ride is short, around 10 minutes, and you will need to pay a small fare (approximately €2-€3). Once at the cable car station, purchase your ticket for the cable car to Oberlech. After reaching Oberlech, follow the signs leading to the hiking trails towards Hochgletscher. The hike may take around 1.5 to 2 hours, and ensure to wear suitable hiking footwear.
