From Schladming, take the Planai hiking bus towards Obertal. The bus stops directly at Eschachalm. The ride takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Check the Planaibus website for the current schedule, as service frequency varies depending on the season. A single fare costs approximately €3-5, but the ride is free with the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard.

Driving
From Schladming, follow the Rohrmoosstraße (L722) to Rohrmoos. At the roundabout in Rohrmoos, take the third exit onto Tälerstraße (L723) towards Untertal. In Untertal, turn right onto Obertalstraße and follow it to Hopfriesen. Continue on the gravel road for approximately 2 km to reach Eschachalm. Parking is available directly at the trailhead. Parking fees apply; expect to pay around €7 per day without the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard, or €5 with the card.

Walking
While walking directly from Schladming is possible, it's a significant distance (approximately 7km to Planai) and not recommended as a primary approach. Instead, consider taking the bus to Untertal and then walking along the Obertalstraße to Eschachalm. This adds about 4km to the hike. Be aware of traffic on the road. Alternatively, enjoy the hiking bus and start the hiking from the bus stop.
