Public Transport
To reach the Rotmandlspitze area using public transport, take a Planai bus from Schladming (Planet-Planai, Lendplatz) or Rohrmoos (Rohrmoos-Zentrum) to Ursprungalm in Preuneggtal. From Eschachalm in Obertal, you can take a bus back to Schladming and Rohrmoos. Bus services are frequent during the hiking season. A single bus fare is approximately €3-5.
Walking
The final approach to Rotmandlspitze involves hiking from either Ursprungalm or Eschachalm, depending on your chosen route. From Ursprungalm, follow trail n° 771 to Preuneggsattel mountain saddle and the Giglachsee Lakes. Then take trail n° 702 past Ignaz-Mattis-Hütte chalet. The ascent from Vetternkar to Rotmandlspitze is steep and requires caution. No costs are involved beyond the potential bus fare to reach the trailhead.
