From Hinterstoder, take the 431 bus towards Hinterstoder Hössbahn Talstation. The bus ride takes approximately 16 minutes and costs between €4 and €7. From the Hössbahn Talstation, purchase a ticket for the Hinterstoder gondola and Höss Express chairlift. A round trip ticket costs approximately €37.50 for adults. The gondola and chairlift will take you to the Höss mountain area, from where Schafkogelsee is a short walk away.

From the Hinterstoder Hössbahn Talstation, follow the signs towards the Hinterstoder gondola. Purchase a ticket and take the gondola and Höss Express chairlift to the Höss mountain area. From the mountain station, Schafkogelsee is a short, easy walk. Follow the well-marked path for approximately 5 minutes to reach the lake.
