Flanking Neptune are Triton figures blowing conch shells, enhancing the fountain's mythological theme. The plate above Neptune features a vase carried by angels, the coat of arms of Archbishop Leopold von Firmian, and a Latin inscription noting its construction by Prince Leopold. The capitalized letters in the inscription also represent the year of construction, 1732.While initially a practical watering place for horses, the Kapitelschwemme has been meticulously preserved as an iconic landmark.
