    Car

    If driving from Vienna, take the A22 towards Krems, then the S5. Take the Mautern exit and follow the B33 towards Melk. Drive to Aggstein. From the Wachau region, follow the B3 towards Aggsbach Dorf, then turn towards Maria Langegg and follow signs to Burgruine Aggstein. Parking is available near the castle. Expect to pay a parking fee.

    Public Transport

    From Vienna, take a train to Krems an der Donau. From Krems Bahnhof, take bus line 720 towards Aggstein. Get off at the 'Aggstein' stop and follow the signs to the castle, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill. A single bus fare from Krems to Aggstein is approximately €3-€11.

    Walking

    If you are in Aggsbach Markt, a well-marked hiking path leads directly to Burgruine Aggstein. The hike takes approximately 30 minutes from the parking area in Aggsbach Markt. From the Aggstein Süd bus stop, it is about a 2 km hike through the Herrenwald, approximately 300 meters steeply uphill to the ruins.
