Walking
From the town center of Senftenberg, the Burgruine is a short but uphill walk. Follow Kirchenberg Straße, heading uphill towards the obvious castle ruins. The walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes and offers scenic views of the town and surrounding area. There are no costs associated with walking to the castle.
Public Transport
To reach Burgruine Senftenberg via public transport, take a regional train to Senftenberg train station. From the station, walk south on Kirchenberg Straße towards the town center, following signs for Burgruine Senftenberg. The walk from the train station to the castle is approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes around 20 minutes. Alternatively, a short taxi ride from the train station to the castle costs approximately €10. A single train fare from Vienna to Krems an der Donau, the nearest major train hub, costs €14-€20.
Car
If driving, follow the B1 road towards Krems, then follow signs to Senftenberg. Once in Senftenberg, follow signs to 'Burgruine Senftenberg.' The castle is located at Kirchenberg 12, 3541 Senftenberg. Parking is available near the entrance. Parking fees, if applicable, are minimal.
