Discover more about Naturpark Geras

Naturpark Geras, nestled in the northeastern Waldviertel region of Lower Austria, invites visitors to consciously experience living nature. Established in 1968, it was the third nature park in Lower Austria. This diverse cultural landscape, characterized by charming meadows, forests, and ponds, provides a habitat for a wide array of inhabitants. The park offers spacious areas that mimic the natural habitats of domestic wild animals of the Waldviertel. At the entrance, a sheep pen and petting zoo house woolly pigs and dwarf goats. A 24-bar wooden xylophone invites musical expression in the forest. Explore the bat nature trail, discover the Summstein, and enjoy panoramic views from the birdwatching platform at Langer Teich. Observe mouflon, red deer, fallow deer, tarpan horses, sika deer, ferrets and konik horses in their natural environment. The Hubertushaus restaurant offers hearty regional dishes. From Hubertushaus, a short walk leads to the petting zoo and enclosures featuring lynx, wild boar and tarpan. Explore the park's diverse tree-lined paths. The park is open from Palm Sunday to October 31st.
