Getting There

  • Car

    The most common way to reach the Olperer area is by car via the Schlegeis Alpine Road (Alpenstrasse Schlegeis). From Ginzling, drive along the toll road (approximately 13.3 km) to the Schlegeis Reservoir (Schlegeisspeicher). Parking is available at the reservoir. From the parking area, follow the signs to Olpererhütte. Toll: €12 per car.

  • Public Transport

    Take bus 4102 from Mayrhofen to Schlegeis Stausee. The bus journey takes approximately 50 minutes. From the bus stop at the Schlegeis Reservoir, follow the signs to Olpererhütte. Bus fare: Approximately €10 per person, one way.

  • Walking

    From the Schlegeis Reservoir, follow the trail (502) towards Olpererhütte. The hike to the hut is approximately 3 km and takes 1.5 - 2 hours with an elevation gain of 600 meters. From the Olperer Hut, continue following the hiking trail to the right, following signs for Friesenberghaus, for 3-4 minutes to reach the Olperer Suspension Bridge.
