Driving from Innsbruck to Madseit takes approximately 1 hour and 8 minutes.

Parts of the building date back to the early 16th century, and it was inhabited by local families until 1992. Saved from abandonment, the house was renovated and opened as a museum in 1999. The Mehlerhaus features several exhibits that offer insights into the region's past. One exhibit is dedicated to the magnesite plant that operated in Tux from 1925 to 1976, a significant part of the area's industrial history. Other rooms display ancient tools and artifacts related to farming and household life, providing a glimpse into the daily lives of the people who once lived here.
