Situated at an elevation of 2,510 meters (8,235 feet), this scenic trail offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail is part of the larger Imbachhorn hiking area and is accessible from the Kitzsteinhorn valley station.
The hike to Rettenzink is considered moderately challenging, making it suitable for hikers with some experience and a reasonable level of fitness. The path winds through varied terrain, including forests, alpine meadows, and rocky sections. Along the way, hikers can enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the region.

Public Transport
From Kaprun town center, take bus 660 towards the Kitzsteinhorn valley station. Get off at the Kitzsteinhorn Gletscherbahnen stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the Gletscherjet 1 lift. The trailhead is located opposite the parking area of the Gletscherjet 1 lift, across the main road. Bus fare is included with the Guest Mobility Ticket, provided by accommodations in Zell am See-Kaprun. Without the Guest Mobility Ticket, a single fare is approximately €2-3.
Walking
From the Kitzsteinhorn Gletscherbahnen bus stop, walk towards the Gletscherjet 1 lift. The trailhead is located opposite the parking area of the Gletscherjet 1 lift, across the main road. The walk from the bus stop to the trailhead is approximately 5-10 minutes.
Parking
Drive towards the Kitzsteinhorn glacier lifts. Continue past Kaprun town center. Park at the Gletscherjet 1 lift parking area. Parking is free, but can fill up quickly during peak season. The trailhead is located opposite the parking area of the Gletscherjet 1 lift, across the main road.
