Aussichtspunkt Mooserboden provides breathtaking vistas of the alpine landscape surrounding the Mooserboden Reservoir, situated at 2,036 meters (6,680 feet) within the Hohe Tauern National Park. The reservoir is a key component of a sophisticated hydroelectric power system, and its turquoise waters contrast with the rugged mountains. The reservoir's history is marked by both innovation and tragedy. Conceived in the 1920s, construction was delayed until the Nazi regime realized the plans during World War II.
