Fichtenschloss Rosenalm: A Fairytale Fortress

Fichtenschloss Rosenalm, translating to Spruce Castle, is more than just a playground; it's a realm of fantasy nestled in the Zillertal Arena. Located high above Zell am Ziller on the Rosenalm, this unique park covers over 5,000 square meters and invites families to rediscover the magic of childhood. Legend says the castle was built by mystical Spruce Sprites for a prince and princess. The castle features four impressive, climbable towers. There is a climbing tower with rope course elements, a slide tower, a crane tower where children can test their building skills, and an 18-meter-high observation tower with views of the Zillertal Mountains. Beyond the towers, Fichtenschloss has interconnected play areas to stimulate creativity and physical activity. A treetop path winds through the trees, and a wooden marble run offers entertainment. There is also a water and sand play area and a hammock forest for relaxation. In recent years, Fichtenschloss expanded to include the Fichtensee, a mountain lake a short walk from the castle. The Fichtensee offers stand-up paddleboarding, boat trips, and diving platforms. There is also a Pixie Cove, a safe, shallow area for young children. Throughout the summer, Fichtenschloss hosts events, including the Children's Festival, with games and entertainment. The park is easily accessible for all ages via the Rosenalmbahn cable car.
