Be prepared for a steep and winding drive. Tolls are collected in cash. For a car with up to 6 people, the toll is €10. Larger vehicles and buses have higher fees.

    A public bus line operates to Melchboden on the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. From the Zillertal Valley, take a regional bus towards one of the villages with access to the Höhenstraße (Ried, Kaltenbach, Aschau, Zellberg, or Hippach). From there, transfer to the Höhenstraße bus line. A one-way ticket from Hochzillertal to Almgasthof Zirmstadl/Platzlalm costs €9 for adults and €4.50 for children. Children under 6 ride free.
