  • Driving

    From the Zillertal Valley, head towards Kaltenbach and follow signs for the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. Be aware that the Zillertaler Höhenstraße is a toll road. The drive up to Murmelland-Zillertal takes approximately 20-30 minutes, offering scenic views. Parking is available at Murmelland-Zillertal. Toll: €10 for cars up to 6 people. Parking: around €5.

  • Public Transport

    From Mayrhofen, take the Zillertalbahn train to Kaltenbach-Stumm station. The train journey takes about 15 minutes. From Kaltenbach-Stumm, take Bus Line 4210 towards Zillertaler Höhenstraße. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited. Bus fare: around €3.

Originally conceived by the Schweiberer family, Murmelland-Zillertal began as a traditional mountain inn, the Kaltenbacher Skihütte. Over time, the family transformed the area into a haven for marmots, creating a park where visitors can observe these animals in their natural habitat. Informative displays offer insights into the marmots' life cycle and behavior. Besides marmots, the park is also home to goats, sheep, donkeys, llamas, and minipigs. Murmelland-Zillertal boasts an extensive network of hiking trails that wind through the picturesque alpine landscape. These trails cater to various skill levels, from leisurely strolls for families to more challenging hikes for experienced trekkers. For younger visitors, there is a playground equipped with swings, slides, climbing frames, and a miniature cable car.
