The Tahir Salahov Home-Museum, located in Baku, offers an intimate look into the life and work of one of Azerbaijan's most renowned artists. Tahir Salahov (1928-2021) was a master of Soviet Realism, known for his emotionally intense portraits and landscapes. The museum, established in 2012, is situated in the very building where Salahov lived and worked. The three-story museum preserves a wonderful atmosphere of peace and harmony, attracting art enthusiasts with a collection of 735 exhibits. The collection includes Salahov's original paintings, carpets, personal belongings, and a photo archive. You can also find old national kitchen utensils and his mother's sewing machines. Salahov's workshop was located on the 3rd floor of the museum. Visitors can explore the ancient streets of the Old City after visiting the museum. The museum is open daily except Monday from 10:00 to 18:00.
