Ismailli State Reserve, established in 1981, spans 167 square kilometers of Azerbaijan's Ismailli and Gabala regions. The reserve was created to preserve and protect the unique natural complexes of the area, encompassing the northern part of the southern slope of the Major Caucasus Mountains. The landscape is a tapestry of diverse ecosystems, from dense forests of beech, hornbeam and oak at lower altitudes, to birch and other deciduous trees higher up.
