Travel Guide to Crypt of the Martyrs' Square

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by entering the address 'Pl. des Martyrs, 1000 Bruxelles' into your GPS. From Walloon Brabant, head towards the E411 highway. Merge onto the E40 towards Brussels. Continue on the E40, then take exit 20 towards Brussels-Centre. Follow the signs to the city center, and then look for parking options nearby, as parking may be limited in the area. The Crypt of the Martyrs' Square is located a short walk from most parking lots.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train from any station in Walloon Brabant to Brussels Central Station. Check the schedule for train times, as they can vary. Upon arrival at Brussels Central Station, exit the station and head towards Rue de la Bourse. Continue walking straight until you reach Place des Martyrs, which is about a 10-15 minute walk. The Crypt is located in the square. Make sure to buy a ticket for the train, which costs approximately 8-10 euros depending on your departure station.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, check the local bus services that connect your area to Brussels. Buses from Walloon Brabant to Brussels often stop at major stations. Once in Brussels, you can catch local buses or trams to get to Place des Martyrs. Make sure to check the bus schedules and routes on the TEC or STIB/MIVB websites. A single bus fare is around 2.10 euros.

• Metro

  Another option is to take the metro. If you are near a metro station, you can take Line 1 or 5 towards Gare de l'Ouest. Transfer at Gare de l'Ouest to Line 2 and head towards Simonis. Get off at the next station at 'Parc'. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Place des Martyrs. Ensure you have a metro ticket, which costs about 2.10 euros.
