To reach Altun Ha from Caracol by car, start on the main road heading east towards the Arenal Road. Continue on this road for approximately 16 miles until you reach the intersection with the Philip Goldson Highway (Hwy 1). Turn left onto Hwy 1 and drive north for about 23 miles. Look for signs directing you to Altun Ha, then take the exit toward Altun Ha. Follow the signs to the parking area. There is a small entry fee of around $10 BZD for adults to access the site.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Caracol to San Ignacio first. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Caracol. Once in San Ignacio, transfer to a bus heading towards Belize City. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Altun Ha. The bus will drop you off at the highway intersection. From there, you can either walk the 1.5 miles to the site or hire a local taxi for a small fee, typically around $10 BZD. Keep in mind that the total cost for public transportation can vary but expect to pay around $20-25 BZD for the entire journey.
