Walking
Start at the central park in San Ignacio, located near the intersection of Burns Avenue and Main Street. From the park, head east along Burns Avenue. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the junction with the George Price Highway. At the junction, look for a local bus terminal (the bus station) on your left. Here, you can catch a bus heading towards the town of Santa Elena. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the turn-off for Caracol.
Bus
Once you are on the bus to Santa Elena, enjoy the scenic ride for about 20-30 minutes. When you reach the turn-off for Caracol, inform the driver that you wish to get off. From the turn-off, you may need to walk or arrange for a local taxi to take you the remaining distance to the Caracol Natural Monument Reservation. The site is approximately another 30-40 minutes' drive from the turn-off.
Taxi
If you prefer not to take the bus, you can hire a taxi from San Ignacio directly to Caracol. Taxis are available near the central park or can be arranged through your hotel. The taxi ride will take about 1.5 hours, and it's advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
