Getting There

• Car

  From Sarteneja, head south on the main road (Road 1) for about 10 kilometers until you reach the junction at the village of Copper Bank. At the junction, take a left turn onto the road heading towards Corozal. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you hit the junction with the Belize-Corozal Road (also known as Highway 83). Turn right onto Highway 83 and follow it for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Corozal. From Corozal, continue south on the same highway, which will take you across the border into Mexico. After crossing the border, keep following the highway for about 30 kilometers until you reach Bacalar. The park is located at Cancun - Chetumal 8205, Bacalar, Q.R., Mexico. Be prepared for potential border crossing fees and have your documents ready.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Parque Municipal de Xul-ha using public transportation, start at the bus terminal in Sarteneja. Take a bus heading towards Corozal. Once in Corozal, you will need to transfer to a bus that goes to Chetumal, Mexico. The bus ride from Sarteneja to Corozal will take approximately 30 minutes, and the ticket should cost around BZD 5. After arriving in Corozal, the bus to Chetumal will take about 1 hour and typically costs around BZD 15. Once you arrive in Chetumal, look for a taxi or local transport to take you to Bacalar.
