Walking
From the center of Bumthang, head north towards the main street. Continue straight until you reach the junction near the Jakar Dzong. At the junction, take a left turn onto the road leading towards Chumey Valley. Continue walking along this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You'll pass by local shops and houses, so feel free to ask locals for directions if needed. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Chumey Nature Resort on your left. Follow the path indicated by the sign into Gyesta Forest, and you will arrive at the resort.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Bumthang. Start your ride heading north towards the main street. Follow the same route as pedestrians; at the junction near Jakar Dzong, turn left onto the road towards Chumey Valley. The total distance is about 5 kilometers, which should take about 20 minutes by bicycle. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, and look for the sign for Chumey Nature Resort on your left as you approach the forest area.
Horseback Riding
If you prefer a more traditional mode of transport, you can inquire about horseback riding tours from local stables in Bumthang. Typically, the guides will take you along the same route to Chumey Nature Resort. You will start at the stable, head towards the main street, and continue north until you reach the junction at Jakar Dzong. Then you'll turn left towards Chumey Valley. The ride should take about 30-40 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful landscape along the way.
