Getting There

Walking
From the center of Jakar, head southeast towards the Jakar Dzong. Once you reach the dzong, continue straight along the road that leads out of the dzong complex. After about 1 km, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the left path that leads towards the Domkhar valley. Continue walking for approximately 3 km, enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and farmland. Keep an eye out for the signposts indicating 'Domkhar Lhakhang'. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive at Domkhar Lhakhang, which is located on the left side of the road, nestled in a beautiful setting.

Bicycle
Starting from Jakar, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Ride southeast towards the Jakar Dzong. Upon reaching the dzong, take the road that leads out of the complex. Follow this road for about 1 km until you reach the fork. At the fork, take the left path towards Domkhar valley. This part of the ride is approximately 3 km long. You will pass through fields and small villages, so take your time to enjoy the scenery. Look for the signposts indicating 'Domkhar Lhakhang'. After about 15-20 minutes, you’ll arrive at the lhakhang, situated on the left side of the road.

Hiking
If you enjoy hiking, you can take a more scenic route. From the center of Jakar, head towards Jakar Dzong, then proceed along the main road for about 1 km. Before reaching the fork in the road, look for a hiking trail that leads towards Domkhar valley. This trail will take you through lush forests and beautiful landscapes. It’s a more challenging route that covers about 4 km, so be prepared for some elevation changes. After about 1-1.5 hours of hiking, you will reach Domkhar Lhakhang, which will be on your left as you enter the valley.
