Getting There

From the center of Bumthang, head east towards the main road. Continue along the road until you reach the junction at Chumey. Take a left turn onto the road that leads to Punakha. Follow the path for approximately 4 kilometers. Along the way, you will pass by several local shops and small eateries where you can stop for refreshments. After about an hour of walking, you will see the stunning Punakha Dzong in the distance. Cross the bridge over the river to reach the dzong entrance.
