Car
To reach Dochula Pass from Gasa by car, first head south on the Gasa-Dachhu Highway. Continue on this road for approximately 30 km. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages. After about an hour of travel, you will reach the junction where the road to Dochula Pass diverges. Take the left fork and continue on the road for another 20 km. The winding road will lead you through lush forests and offer stunning views of the Himalayas. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Gasa, you will arrive at Dochula Pass. There are parking areas available for your vehicle.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, start by finding a local bus or shared taxi from Gasa to Thimphu. Buses typically leave from the main bus station in Gasa. The journey to Thimphu takes about 3-4 hours. Once you arrive in Thimphu, you can take a taxi or another shared taxi to Dochula Pass. This leg of the trip is around 24 km and should take approximately 30-45 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule for buses and taxis, as they may not run frequently. The total cost for the bus from Gasa to Thimphu is usually around 150-200 Ngultrum, and the taxi from Thimphu to Dochula Pass may cost between 800-1200 Ngultrum.
