Car
From Gasa, head south on the main road towards Punakha. The drive will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The route offers stunning views of the Himalayas and lush valleys. Follow the signs for Punakha, and as you approach the town, you'll see the Punakha Dzong on your left, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. There is parking available near the Dzong.
Public Transportation
To reach Punakha Dzong from Gasa via public transport, first take a local bus or shared taxi from Gasa to Punakha. Buses typically leave in the morning and the journey will take around 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival in Punakha town, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to the Dzong, which is approximately 10 minutes away.
