Car
From Gasa, head south on the Gasa-Punakha Highway (also known as the Wangdue Phodrang-Gasa Road). The drive to Paro takes about 5-6 hours, depending on road conditions. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, and make sure to stop at various viewpoints. Once in Paro, follow the signs to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest). You can park your vehicle at the designated parking area near the trailhead.
Public Transportation (Bus)
Take a local bus from Gasa to Punakha. This journey takes around 3-4 hours. From Punakha, catch another bus to Paro, which will take approximately 3-4 hours as well. Once you reach Paro, you can hire a taxi or walk to the Taktsang Monastery trailhead. The bus fare from Gasa to Punakha is usually around 150-200 Nu and from Punakha to Paro, it can range from 200-300 Nu.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Gasa to Paro. This option is more expensive, typically around 5,000-6,000 Nu, but it will take approximately 5-6 hours. Once in Paro, you can get dropped off at the Taktsang Monastery parking area.
Hiking
For the adventurous, after reaching Paro either by car, bus, or taxi, you can hike up to Tiger's Nest from the trailhead. The hike takes about 2-3 hours one way, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and water for the trek.
