Getting There

From the center of Mongar town, head towards the main road that leads to Trashiyangtse. This road is well-marked and is the main route connecting Mongar to the eastern parts of Bhutan. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach a fork. Take the left fork towards Trashiyangtse. Continue on this road for another 3 kilometers. You will start to see signs for Gom Kora. As you approach, you will pass by a few small villages. Keep an eye out for the Gom Kora sign on your right. Once you see the sign, follow the path leading up to the monastery. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Mongar. Start at the town center and proceed towards the main road leading to Trashiyangtse. This route is suitable for cycling and has a gentle incline. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will reach the fork in the road. Take the left fork towards Trashiyangtse. Continue cycling for another 3 kilometers until you see the signs for Gom Kora. The route is scenic, and cycling will take about 30 to 40 minutes. Make sure to take breaks if needed, and enjoy the views!

If you are up for an adventure, consider hiking from Mongar to Gom Kora. Start at the main square in Mongar and take the trail that leads to the main road heading east towards Trashiyangtse.
