Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Paro, start at the Paro Dzong. Head east along the main street (Drukgyal Lam), which will turn into the road leading to Thimphu. Continue walking for about 45 minutes until you reach the junction at Chuzom. Here, follow the signs towards Thimphu. After approximately 20 minutes, you'll reach the outskirts of Thimphu. Continue straight onto Pedzoe Lam. The National Library & Archives of Bhutan will be on your left at PO Box 185.

    From the Paro bus station, board a bus heading to Thimphu. The journey should take about 1 hour. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Pedzoe Lam. Once you get off, walk towards Pedzoe Lam, which is about a 10-minute walk. The National Library & Archives of Bhutan is located at PO Box 185, just a short distance away on your left.

  • Taxi

    If you're near the Paro town square, you can easily hire a taxi. Inform the driver that you want to go to the National Library & Archives of Bhutan in Thimphu, located at PO Box 185, Pedzoe Lam. The drive will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance of the library.
