Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the center of Paro, head towards the Paro Dzong. From there, follow the main road heading east towards the Punakha direction. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach a junction where the road forks. Take the left fork, which leads towards the Punakha Dzong. Continue walking for another 15 minutes, and you will see the majestic Punakha Dzong on your right.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Paro. Start from the main town square and ride towards the Paro Dzong. After passing the Dzong, continue along the main road heading east. Keep an eye out for the signposts indicating the direction to Punakha. After approximately 45 minutes of cycling, you will reach a fork in the road; take the left fork. After another 15 minutes, Punakha Dzong will be visible on your right.

From the main bus station in Paro, board a bus heading towards Punakha. The journey will take about 1 hour, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way.
