Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Thimphu (near the Clock Tower), head south along Norzin Lam. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the main road (Chhoten Lam). Turn left onto Chhoten Lam and follow it for another 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Kuenselphodrang. You will eventually come to a steep path leading up to the statue. The walk up is about 500 meters, and you will see the statue from a distance as you approach.

Public Transport
From the main bus terminal in Thimphu, catch a local bus heading towards Kuenselphodrang. There are signs indicating buses that go to the Buddha Dordenma. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you get off the bus, you will need to walk about 15 minutes up the path to the statue. Follow the signs that point to the Buddha Dordenma as you walk up the hill.

Hiking
For those looking for a more adventurous route, you can start your hike from the base of the hill near the Royal Botanical Park. Begin at the park's entrance and take the trail leading up towards Kuenselphodrang. This hike is approximately 2 kilometers and offers beautiful views of Thimphu along the way. Follow the trail signs, and it will lead you directly to the Buddha Dordenma Statue.
