Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Thimphu, start your journey from the main traffic intersection known as Clock Tower Square. From there, head north on Norzin Lam street. After about 500 meters, you will see the Royal University of Bhutan on your left. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Pedzoe Lam. Turn left onto Pedzoe Lam. The National Library & Archives of Bhutan will be on your right side after approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for the large building with traditional Bhutanese architecture. The library is well-signposted.

Public Bus
From the main bus station in Thimphu, take any bus that heads towards Chubachu. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the National Library stop. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the National Library, you will need to walk a short distance to the entrance, which is easily visible.

Taxi
If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Thimphu. Simply ask the driver to take you to the National Library & Archives of Bhutan. Most drivers are familiar with the location. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to have the address written down (PO Box 185, Pedzoe Lam) in case the driver is unfamiliar with the library.
