    Getting There

    Walking

    If you are starting from the center of Thimphu, head towards the Clock Tower Square. From the Clock Tower, walk north along Norzin Lam Street for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Chhoten Lam. Turn right onto Chhoten Lam and continue walking for approximately 500 meters. The National Memorial Chhorten will be on your left, easily identifiable by its impressive golden spires.

    Starting from the Tashichho Dzong, walk south towards the traffic lights at the main intersection. At the intersection, turn left onto Chhoten Lam. Continue straight for about 800 meters. You will see the National Memorial Chhorten on your right side, marked by its iconic stupa.

    If you are near the National Library, head east towards the main road. Once you reach the road, turn left onto Norzin Lam. Walk straight for around 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Chhoten Lam. Turn left onto Chhoten Lam and the National Memorial Chhorten will be on your left after about 400 meters.

    From the Buddha Dordenma statue, make your way down the hill towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk towards the main junction. At the junction, turn right onto Chhoten Lam and continue for about 1.2 kilometers. The National Memorial Chhorten will be on your left.
