Getting There

Walking
From the center of Thimphu, head towards the Clock Tower Square. Once you are at the Clock Tower, take the road that leads to Norzin Lam. Continue walking along Norzin Lam until you reach the intersection with Changangkha Lhakhang Road. Turn left onto Changangkha Lhakhang Road and walk straight until you reach the entrance of Thimphu Valley, which is approximately 2 kilometers from the Clock Tower.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can start from the main traffic circle at the Clock Tower. Ride along Norzin Lam towards the east. After about 1.5 kilometers, take a right onto Changangkha Lhakhang Road. Continue cycling for another 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of Thimphu Valley. The ride is mostly flat and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.

Public Bus
From any location in Thimphu, make your way to the main bus station located near the Clock Tower. Look for the bus heading towards Babesa. Board the bus and enjoy the ride, which should take around 15-20 minutes. Ask the bus conductor to notify you when you reach Babesa, the nearest stop for Thimphu Valley. Once you get off, walk approximately 10 minutes up the hill to reach the entrance of Thimphu Valley.

For those feeling adventurous, you can trek to Thimphu Valley from the outskirts of the city. Start at the base of the hills near the Tashichho Dzong and follow the well-marked trekking paths that lead up into the valley. This route is about 3 kilometers and will take you through beautiful pine forests and offer stunning views of the city below. Ensure you have appropriate gear and water for this trek.
