Getting There

Walking
From the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, head south on the main road (Wangdue Phodrang-Thimphu Highway). Continue walking straight for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the bus station. From there, you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi heading to Thimphu. The journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive in Thimphu, ask locals for directions to Norzin Lam, which is a prominent street. The National Handicraft Emporium is located at POB 771 on Norzin Lam. It will be a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Begin your journey at the Wangdue Phodrang bus station. Board a local bus that is heading towards Thimphu. The buses are frequent and the ride takes approximately 1 hour. When you arrive in Thimphu, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, walk towards Norzin Lam, which is about 10 minutes away on foot. The National Handicraft Emporium is located at POB 771 Nordzin Lam, and you should be able to spot it easily as it is a well-known tourist attraction.

At the Wangdue Phodrang taxi stand, look for shared taxis heading to Thimphu. The drivers usually wait until the taxi is full before leaving. The ride will take around 1 hour.
