Getting There

Walking
From Wangdue Phodrang, head towards the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Once you reach the Dzong, take the main road leading down towards the Wangdue Phodrang town center. Follow the road as it curves to the right, and continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the Thimphu road. At the intersection, take a left turn towards Thimphu. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach Thimphu. Once in Thimphu, ask for directions to Pedzoe Lam, where the National Library & Archives of Bhutan is located. It is situated at PO Box 185, Pedzoe Lam, Thimphu. The library is about a 10-minute walk from the main road.

Public Bus
From Wangdue Phodrang, go to the local bus station and board a bus heading towards Thimphu. The journey will take around an hour. Once you arrive in Thimphu, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi. If walking, head towards the main street, and then take a right turn onto Pedzoe Lam. The National Library & Archives of Bhutan will be located on this road, approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a taxi from Wangdue Phodrang to Thimphu. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The ride will take around 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Thimphu, ask the driver to take you to Pedzoe Lam. The National Library & Archives of Bhutan is located at PO Box 185, Pedzoe Lam, Thimphu, and should be easily accessible by taxi.
