Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Phuentsholing. Head northeast on the Phuentsholing-Jayanti road (NH 31) for approximately 40 km until you reach the town of Jaigaon. Cross the border into India at the Phuentsholing border checkpoint. Once in India, continue on NH 31 for about 30 km until you reach the Buxa Tiger Reserve entrance. From there, follow the signs to the Jayanti Tea Garden area, which is approximately 6 km further. Bhutia Basti is located within this vicinity. Be mindful of any tolls along the route and check the road conditions as they can vary.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Bhutia Basti using public transportation, take a bus from Phuentsholing to Jaigaon. Buses run frequently throughout the day and the fare is usually very affordable, around INR 50-100.
