From Siliguri (approx. 180 km): Take NH-31 towards Alipurduar. From Alipurduar (approx. 30 km): Buxa Tiger Reserve is easily accessible by car or taxi. The main entry point, Rajabhatkhawa, is well-connected by road. Approximate taxi fare from Alipurduar to Rajabhatkhawa: INR 800-1200. Note: As of January 2025, entry fees to Buxa Tiger Reserve have been halted. Confirm the current fee status before your visit.
Train
The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), approximately 175 km from Buxa. Alipurduar Junction, about 15 km from Buxa, is a closer option. From NJP or Alipurduar, hire a taxi or shared vehicle to reach Rajabhatkhawa, the entry point to Buxa Tiger Reserve. Approximate taxi fare from Alipurduar Junction to Rajabhatkhawa: INR 600-900.
Air
The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport, approximately 175 km from Buxa. Hire a car from the airport to reach Buxa, which takes around 5 hours. Approximate taxi fare from Bagdogra Airport to Buxa Tiger Reserve: INR 2500-3500.
