From the center of Sarajevo, take tram number 3 towards Baščaršija. Get off at the last stop, which is the main bus station (Autobuska stanica). After arriving, look for the buses to the town of Trnovo. Buses to Trnovo typically depart from the same bus station and can be found at platform 2 or 3. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes.

Once you arrive in Trnovo, exit the bus station and head towards the main road (M18). You'll want to follow this road towards the village of Rakitnica. The hike to the canyon is roughly 4-5 kilometers, and it will take you about an hour to reach the starting point of the trail leading into Rakitnica Canyon. Make sure to ask locals for directions if you're unsure, as the paths can be a bit unclear.
