  • Walking

    Slani Slapovi are located within the Panonska Jezera complex in the center of Tuzla. From Trg Slobode (Liberty Square), walk southeast along Ul. Bosne Srebrene, then turn left onto Šetalište Slana Banja. The waterfalls will be on your right, within the Panonska Jezera complex. Entrance to the complex requires a ticket, which costs 9 KM for adults.

    From the Tuzla Bus Station, walk southeast on Ul. Bosne Srebrene. Turn left onto Šetalište Slana Banja. The Slani Slapovi will be on your right, inside the Panonska Jezera complex. A single bus fare within Tuzla is approximately 2 BAM. Entrance to the Panonska Jezera complex is 9 KM for adults.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Tuzla. A taxi ride from the Tuzla Bus Station or city center to Slani Slapovi will be a short trip. Expect to pay around 7 BAM for a 5km ride. Ask the driver to take you to the Panonska Jezera complex. Entrance fee to the complex is 9 KM for adults.

Slani Slapovi, or Salt Waterfalls, is an intriguing and unique feature of the Panonska Jezera complex in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. These artificial waterfalls are not just for show; they are integrated into a recreational and therapeutic environment. The waterfalls consist of five cascades and two pools where the salt water flows. This water, rich in minerals, is believed to provide relaxation, relieve stress, and alleviate respiratory issues and headaches through inhalation of the salty mist. Visitors can even enjoy a massage from the cascading water. The Slani Slapovi were officially opened on September 25, 2008, after five phases of construction, costing around 1 million KM. They are an integral part of the Panonska Jezera complex, which includes three artificial salt lakes of varying sizes and depths. The complex also features a Neolithic pile-dwelling settlement, sports fields, restaurants, cafes, and other entertainment facilities. The idea for the Panonska Jezera, including the Slani Slapovi, dates back to 2000, with the first lake being built in July 2003. The archaeological park was added in 2006, and the second salt lake and the Slani Slapovi followed in 2008. The third lake was opened in 2012. The entire complex can accommodate around 17,000 guests daily. Tuzla is the only city in Europe with salt lakes and the only city in the world with salt lakes, a bathing area, and a beach in the city center. The Panonska Jezera have therapeutic properties due to the salt and mineral content. The water is continuously circulated and purified through sand filters.
