Discover more about Kwando Nxai Pan Lodge

Kwando Nxai Pan Lodge is the only permanent camp nestled within the Nxai Pan National Park. Located on the western edge of the fossil pan from which it gets its name, the lodge faces east, overlooking the expansive grasslands. This unique setting provides guests with unparalleled access to the park's seasonal wonders, most notably the zebra migration, the second largest in Southern Africa. The lodge itself is designed to withstand the harsh desert climate, with thatched units providing comfortable temperatures year-round. The main areas include an open-air lounge, a dining area, a bar, a swimming pool, and a curio shop. The nine tents, including a family tent, all face a waterhole, offering excellent opportunities for game viewing directly from the lodge. Nxai Pan National Park is known for its dramatic transformation following the rainy season (November to April). The arid landscape bursts into life, attracting large herds of zebra, springbok, gemsbok, and wildebeest, followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The lodge also offers day trips to Baines' Baobabs, a group of ancient trees immortalized in paintings by Thomas Baines in 1862. These majestic trees stand as a testament to the timeless beauty of the African landscape. Cultural experiences are also available, offering insights into the lifestyle of the San Bushmen.
