Getting there

Public Transport

To reach BioParque do Rio via public transport, take the Metro or train to São Cristóvão Station. From there, it's a short walk to the Quinta da Boa Vista, where the BioParque is located. A RioCard can be purchased and topped up for use on the Metro and buses. The cost of the Metro is around R$3. Keep in mind that using two different types of transportation within 2 hours can give you discounts on the fare.

Taxi/Ride-Share

Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Cabify are readily available in Rio de Janeiro. A taxi from the city center to BioParque do Rio typically takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated fare is R$25-R$40. Be sure the driver turns on the meter, or negotiate a flat rate beforehand.

Driving

If driving to BioParque do Rio, use GPS to navigate to Quinta da Boa Vista in São Cristóvão. Parking is available at the BioParque, with rates of R$30 on weekdays and R$35 on weekends and holidays. Parking is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Be aware that parking is subject to availability and price changes.

* **Carnivores:** Home to endangered carnivores, many native to Brazil.

* **Asia:** Showcasing the diverse wildlife of Asia.

* **Tropical Immersion:** An immersive experience of the sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest.

* **Reptile Village:** A world of snakes, alligators, and turtles.

* **Primate Island:** Featuring primates from the Amazon rainforest.

* **Kings of the Jungle:** Protected lions under constant study with minimal human impact.

* **Cerrado:** Replicating Brazil's second-largest biome, holding about 5% of the planet's biodiversity.

* **Burle Marx Garden:** Designed by the renowned landscape architect, featuring aquatic birds.The BioParque is involved in several conservation projects, including the ex-situ conservation of the critically endangered frog species *Physalaemus soaresi*. The BioParque aims to create unforgettable memories while promoting environmental awareness.
