Praça Pereira Oliveira: The Heart of Florianópolis

Getting There

• Bus

  If you're in the central area of Florianópolis, head to the nearest bus stop and take any bus heading towards 'Centro'. Most bus lines operate regularly. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the stop at 'Catedral', which is a well-known landmark. After disembarking, walk towards the main square in front of the Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de Florianópolis). From the Cathedral, walk straight down the street (Avenida Dom Jaime Câmara) for about 5 minutes until you reach Praça Pereira Oliveira, which is located to your right. The square is a vibrant area with plenty of local shops and cafes.

• Walking

  If you're near the Mercado Público (Public Market), exit the market and head towards Praça XV de Novembro. From there, walk towards Rua Conselheiro Mafra. Continue walking straight until you reach Avenida Dom Jaime Câmara. Turn left, and after a short walk, you will find Praça Pereira Oliveira on your right. The walk should take around 10-15 minutes and is a pleasant stroll through the heart of the city.

• Taxi

  To take a taxi, you can flag one down from the street or use a ride-sharing app. Simply tell the driver 'Praça Pereira Oliveira' or show them the address: Centro, Florianópolis - State of Santa Catarina, 88010-400. The taxi will take you directly to the square, and the journey should be relatively quick, typically around 5-10 minutes from most central locations.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops. Start from any central location and head towards Avenida Dom Jaime Câmara. Follow this avenue until you reach Praça Pereira Oliveira. The ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes. Be sure to follow bike lanes where available for a safer journey.
